60,000sqm Public Park to Be Built

The 60,000 sqm park will include a tree conservation area, jogging track, playing fields, children’s play area and a sand dune park and will include scupltures by Bahraini artists.  The park will be built by a Malaysian firm and will be located in Hamad Town. To read more click here.  

Foreign Direct Investment Increase in 2014

The UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) World Investment Report 2015 shows that FDI inflows as a percentage of gross fixed capital formation increased in 2014 to 22.4, compared with 19.3 percent in 2013. To read more click here.

6 Major Infrastructure Tenders Awarded

The Assistant Under-Secretary for Service, of the Municipality and Urban Planning Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Al Khayyat revealed that the ministry awarded six tenders worth BD2,893,470.  In addition the ministry invited bids for 11 roads and sanitary and construction tenders worth BD4,020,108 during April of this year. GPIC profit increases to $190.2m due to record levels of production

GPIC (Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company), based in Bahrain has seen a 2.25% increase in the companies net profit compared with 2013.   The company uses natural gas to produce ammonia, urea and methanol and produced 400,000 more tonnes in 2014 than in 2013 directly leading to the increase in profits.
