Bahrain to host first FinTech Conference for MENA Region

Hosted by Arab Financial Services at the Four Seasons Hotel on the 29th, the MENA FinTech is titled “Fintech Disruption of the Financial Industry”.

AFS chief executive B Chandrasekhar stated, “Fintech is an innovative and fast-growing sector presenting tremendous opportunities. This event will allow us to understand and analyse the FinTech revolution and help us position Bahrain as a leader in the journey toward a digital, cashless economy.”

Bahrain to have new Medical City worth $1bn

To be constructed in two phases, with an expected date of completion of end 2019, the hospital is being funded with a grant from Saudi Arabia’s late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.  A total of 29 companies have been prequalified to bid for the construction of the medical city in Bahrain, to be constructed in two phases.

Bahrain to build its first LNG terminal

Construction on Bahrain’s first LNG terminal, which will be used to receive and regasify LNG, will commence this month to be completed by 2019.  The project is jointly owned with Bahrain LNG, Oil and Gas Holding Company (Nogaholding) and a consortium consisting of Teekay LNG Partners, Gulf Investment Corporation (GIC) and Samsung C&T (Samsung).

17th World Renewable Energy Conference from December 4 to 8

Bahrain is hosting the 17th World Renewable Energy Conference from the 4-8 December.   Under the patronage of Electricity and Water Affairs, the World Energy Council, in collaboration with the University of Bahrain, will be organising the event.  Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza, will speak on sustainable energy and Bahrain’s Sustainable Energy Unit, its plans and objectives, at the opening ceremony.

Bahrain Marina expected completion 2020

Bahrain Marina is a planned development which will stretch along pristine coastline consisting of state-of-the-art residential, entertainment, leisure and marina facilities, said Abdulrahman Yusuf Bin Yusuf Fakhro, the chairman of Bahrain Marina.  It’s expected completion date is 2020.
