Major Road Project Pre-qualification Commences

Pre-qualification of companies who have bidded on the tender for the major road projects of the North Manama Causeway Phase-2 and Busaiteen Link Project have begun.  The projects will be funded by the Saudi Fund for Development.  For more information on the tender you can find it here.  

$4 billion of active projects by the GCC Development Fund

Bahrain’s non-oil sector has grown to 3.6% in the second quarter, compared to 2.7% in the first quarter of 2016.  Seemingly due to large growth in infrastructure projects such as those by the GCC Development Fund.  To read more click here.

World Bank raises Bahrain’s ‘doing business’ ranking

In the annual ‘Doing Business’ report published by the World Bank, Bahrain has moved up in various rankings such as the 2nd most favourable place in the Middle East as it has been made easier to start a business, get credit information and trade across borders as just a few reasons.  To read more click here.

Bahrain Transport Restructure Project – French firm bids low

French owned, Egis Group International, has bid the lowest amount out of the 5 bids received so far for the tender of providing consultancy services to improve Bahrain’s transport infrastructure. The tender opened today 20 October and is accepting bids here.  

Critical Infrastructure Upgrades

Canadian company, SNC Lavelin, have been awarded a major project by Bahrain’s Electricity & Water Authority to supervise the design and construction of the relocation of underground transmission and distribution cabling networks and the setting up of numerous 11 kV substations in Bahrain.
