Bahrain: New Fines for Unrenewed Commercial Registrations

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC) in Bahrain has decided on 21 October 2024 to impose an annual fine of BHD500 on each commercial registration that has not been renewed for three consecutive years. It has indicated that the decision does not include delays in renewing the registration for one or two years. It was explained that this fine will not be imposed until after three years of non-renewal of the commercial registration. The decision aims to give an opportunity to owners of unrenewed registrations for a large number of years, as they can now revive the registration and work with it upon paying the delay fines owed.
